| Brakes - Rim |
The Rim Brake is the most commonly used on bicycles today in the form of a Sidepull, Cantilever, 'U' or 'V' brake. 'V' brakes (sometimes called linear- or direct-pull) are the most common of these and mount on the frame or fork, the arms extend straight up, and the outer housing is attached to one arm and the inner housing to the other, similar to the cable attachment for sidepull brakes.
