Excellent all-round pedal

I toyed with the idea of these for a while since some purists argue that using a half-half pedal such as this is a bit of a cop-out (the alternative being a total SPD pedal like the M520). Well, having taken the plunge and purchased I can say that I'm glad I did. They are easy to fit (obviously) and as with all Shimano stuff I've dealt with in the past, the quality is very high. I have a hybrid bike that is primarily used for commuting and the flexibility these afford is ideal - I use a Shimano MTB shoe with them and they work faultlessly. The adjustment mechanism is straightforward, and cleats are included with the pedals too. Having a dual-purpose pedal also results in a fast getaway from lights etc since you don't need to clip in straightaway, wobbling all over the place like you see some people doing! There is another alternative Shimano pedal that has a bear-trap like appearance (M424), but I'd heard that the clip was recessed which I suppose could have caused problems. Also, they've got a resin body which might have broken/worn over time. This is my first foray into clipless pedals and there's no turning back!
